Medical missions is an important part of our ministry here in Oaxaca,
Mexico. We have several short term medical mission trips each year. These teams
minister among the different unreached people groups to help open doors for
church planting. We have found that people are much more open to talk about
their spiritual needs if we help meet a physical need. Click here if you are

Most Mixteco villages have little or no public health care (besides the local
witchdoctor). There is a hospital in Tlaxiaco where our missions base is located,
but few people are willing to make the journey into the city while they are
sick.
We are currently networking with organizations like Project BGAN and Compassion
Oaxaca. Our hope is to have medical supplies, dental equipment, and medicine
at our missionary training center at all times. This equipment would be available
to missionaries in the area and to short term medical missions teams that would
use the supplies to host clinics in the rural communities.
We are also in the process of forming a mobile medical unit that would
be dedicated to traveling to different villages providing education and public
health care in different unreached people groups. The goal would be to
open doors for missionaries desiring to plant churches and to help build the
reputation of small churches in different villages. The mobile medical unit
would have a revolving door policy where medical students and others
could come in for a few weeks to months at a time to get their feet wet in medical
missions and to see if it is something that they would like to be involved with
in the future. We currently need missionary nurses, doctors, translators,
etc. Click here if you are interested in long-term
medical missions opportunities.
If the Mexico medical missions ministry grows enough, we have space available
at our missions base to do consultations and dispense medicine.
Current Medical Missions Needs:
1) We are looking for new and used medical and dental equipment and supplies.
2) We are looking for someone with medical experience to help facilitate our
short-term medical mission trips.
3) We need nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals to coordinate and
help form a mobile medical unit.
4) We need medical-oriented advocates in the United States that could help promote
our short and long-term medical missions opportunities.
