Global Frontier Missions is forming a network of "watchmen". We know that many people aren't able to actually go to the nations to plant churches where there aren't any. There are a lot of people who have a huge heart for reaching the nations but because of job, family, finances, or other circumstances can't currently be on the front lines. Maybe the Lord allowed you to stay back so that you could influence and encourage fifty others to be praying, giving, and going. You may actually be able to do more from home if you are making a strategic and concentrated effort to see more prayers, money, and laborers sent to the unreached people groups of the world!
In the Bible, watchmen were people that stood in the towers looking for the enemy to come. It was their job to sound the trumpets and warn the people of imminent danger. If they warned the people, they would have done their job and not be responsible for the other's actions. If they didn't blow their horns and announce the coming judgment, the blood would be on their hands.
We are looking for "watchmen" that would be willing to sound the trumpets and let home groups, churches, campus groups, and individuals in the U.S. know about the need in the world today and how they can get involved. There are about 6500 unreached people groups with no access to the gospel. That ends up being about 2.5 billion people or 40% of the world population without any chance to hear the Good News. Most Christians have no knowledge of those statistics and need to know because it is something so close to God's heart.
Global Frontier Missions "watchmen" will have preferably (but not necessarily) been through one of our short-term mission trips, summer internships, or Mission Training School. They will sign a covenant and commit a certain amount of their money to missions among unreached people groups, a certain amount of time to prayer for the nations, a certain amount of time reaching out to unreached people groups, and a certain amount of time encouraging others to do the same.
We would love to see a few people dedicated full-time to being "watchmen" in the U.S. However, it may be much more effective to have several hundred "watchmen" spread out over the country giving a few hours a month sharing the need and vision in each of their spheres of influence (friends, family, co-workers, small group, Sunday school class, campus organization, church).
