The main goal of Global Frontier Missions in Oaxaca
is to plant churches among indigenous people groups who still have not heard
the Gospel. The Bible says that people from ev
ery
tribe, tongue, people, and nation will be standing before the throne of God
worshipping Him (Rev. 7:9,10). But how can these people worship God if they
have never heard the truth about Him? And how can they hear about Him, if no
one goes to them (Rom. 10:14,15)? We desire to hear the precious sound in heaven
of people from every tribe, praising the Lord in their native language.
We are trying to do our part in seeing this dream accomplished by church planting
in the village of Yucuane. There is currently
not a single believer in this village. Church planting in closed areas is a
long-process because the people's hearts are so hard to the Gospel. Evangelism
is always done on a relationship basis. In order to make friendships with the
people, we often teach English, talk with the people in the market as they buy
or sell goods, provide medical clinics, and offer children's programs with clowns,
puppets, songs, and crafts. Presently, we are doing a weekly English class
in Yucuane. We are also trying to visit and get to know the people of
the village. The people are now beginning to expect us each week and are slowly
starting to open up to us. We are praying that very soon we would be able to
start a Bible study there.
At this time, we are also working in the village of Tataltepec.
They have a small body of struggling believers. We are leading them through
a discipleship course with the desire of seeing all of them strengthened in
the Word. In order to draw more people into the church, we are also doing children's
programs, evangelical movies, and English classes. We hope that this church
will eventually become self-sufficient with an indigenous pastor.
Short term mission trips also help us to fulfill our vision of reaching the unreached. These youth,
teen, college, adult, group and medical missions teams help to open doors by
providing for the physical and spiritual needs of the people in the villages
where we are working. Construction and medical teams have also gone with us
into various villages. When people come on a short-term trip they not only bring
a blessing to a village, but they also receive an amazing blessing from their
time in Oaxaca.
We have also started
an indigenous Bible school at our missions
training center in Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca. The focus is on raising up indigenous leaders
and pastors within the region to reach their own people and the surrounding
villages. The school includes Biblical teachings on the Old Testament, New Testament,
Prayer, Praise and Worship, Leadership, Fundamentals of the Faith, and the Church.
There will also be time for personal devotions, small groups, and discipleship.
We now have a Mission Training School dedicated to raising up laborers for the end time harvest. It is
a one-year program and includes teachings on Old and New Testament Survey, prayer,
spiritual warfare, missions, cultural adaptation, language learning, community
health, teaching ESL, tentmaking, etc. Upon completion of the school, students
are eligible to receive an Associate's Degree in Biblical Studies from Vision
University and can be licensed through the Commission Ministers Network.
We would love for you to partner with us and be a part of what the Lord is doing
here in Oaxaca. Please consider praying for this minister, getting involved
financially, or coming down to work with us on a short or long-term basis.
